Frequently Asked Questions

Where's your catalog?

We don't have a catalog. We do have a brochure we can email to you if requested.  If you have a question regarding any product or custom projects, please E-mail us and we will respond.

Why don't you make metal belt clips?

Because many phones today are low-powered to conserve the battery. Low-powered CDMA and digital phones, in particular, are very susceptible to signal interference.  Phone manufacturers reduce the power output of these phones because they can still be effective with less power. On low-powered phones, metal interferes with the antenna signal radiation significantly. Additional reasons include high cost, clothing stains, entanglement risks, excessive weight.

Where do I mount the adhesive tab on my phone?

Usually as close to the top of the device as possible is best. Your thumb should naturally fall on the release button of the belt clip when you pull the device back to release it. This allows for a quick, easy one hand removal. Some newer phones have a curved back which usually presents no problem, but our new scored buttons are engineered to adapt to curved surfaces.

With any button we suggest you clean the surface well to remove any oil (we recommend denatured or rubbing alcohol), press firm on the button adhesive when first making contact and if possible, after 6-8 hours and you should have no problem. The adhesive pad is compressible and will bond to most moderately curved surfaces.

Will the 3M adhesive really work?

Yes, the surface area of the 3M small tab adhesive has been tested thoroughly. If you apply the adhesive to a very clean, non-porous surface, there is no way the adhesive will fail under reasonable use. In most cases the adhesive will fail slowly if at all, and you'll notice it in time to take action. We can produce adhesive products with no failure, but most people like to incorporate a reasonable "point-of-failure" which the 3M adhesive provides. A no adhesive failure attachment could result in a PDA or phone with the back ripped off.

How do I remove the adhesive tabs completely?

We use a spoon because the curved shape works well. Insert the edge of the spoon between the tab and your device (where the adhesive pad is), go slowly, once you get an edge lifted, pry up the base of the tab. Go slowly as the adhesive wants to fail at a slow rate. Any remaining adhesive will roll off with a little finger pressure.
